A Little About Me
Hi, my name is Pat. I am 57 years of age and the proud father of four wonderful children and 1 grandchild. Bobby (the eldest at 28) has already flown the nest while Michael (25) has also spread his wings. Peter (22) has found himself a lovely wife and made me a grandfather on 24th of April. Jennifer, who at 19 is the youngest. She graduated from High School last December and is hoping to do a Enrolled Nurses course later this year.
As you may gather from the flags and the music I am Australian and fiercly proud of that. I am proud of the fact that my ancestors were some of the earliest white people to settle in this wonderful country. They were brought here as guests of His Majestie's Government.
I live in the beautiful city of Lithgow. We are situated on the North-Western edge of the Blue Mountains some 160 kilometers (100 miles) west of Sydney. The city lies in a narrow valley with mountains on the Northern, Southern and Eastern sides. I also refer to it as God's Wonderful Country.

Because of the location we are surrounded by rugged bush and National Parks. During the year we can be subjected to extremes of weather. This can go from very heavy frosts and snow during the winter to searing hot summer days with severe thunderstorms.
Lithgow is famous throughout the world for its Zig Zag railway. Lithgow is also known as the birthplace of the Australian steel indudtry. One of the earliest industries in Lithgow was coal mining. This industry was first established by Thomas Brown in the 1830s. He built the beautiful Eskbank house in 1842.
